Backyard BBQ Party

Besides my office the favorite thing about my new home has to be the backyard. It is perfect for backyard entertaining and when my brother asked if he could celebrate his 23rd birthday here I jumped at the chance to plan and decorate it.

I made the tissue paper pom poms in grey, aqua and orange. I designed and printed the patterned cardstock myself and used it for the paper medallions, the birthday banner and flags. To keep the decorations a little more rustic and masculine I decided to use kraft paper cardstock for some of the decor and used natural twine for the banner instead of ribbon.¬†For the ice-cream cake I made a banner with kraft paper and I packaged the s’mores in chevron patterned kraft paper bags with custom sticker labels.

The hardest part of planning and making the decorations was to refrain from making it too girly but even without the tulle and glitter everything turned out beautifully! Thanks to my brother in-law for manning the grill, my sister for all her help , my brother for the amazing photos and my boyfriend for making the delicious but funny shaped cucumber sandwiches . With all their help, the party was amazing and the birthday boy had a blast!
