My girlfriend Mae is getting married in July and I have been having so much fun helping her with the upcoming festivities. The first thing I made were her bridal shower invitations. I designed the invitation with teal watercolour flowers, gilver and teal text. I printed it on white linen card stock and used matching teal envelopes. I love, love the teal and how it all turned out!
Sandie contacted me a few months ago for some decor for a baby shower she was throwing for a friend. The gender was to remain a surprise so she chose neutral colours of grey, black and white for the colour scheme. I made a custom banner with scalloped circles and squares, black tulle to tie the pieces together and used glittered damask cardstock for the ends.
She also ordered black, grey and white tissue paper pom poms and tissue flower poms on stems to place in vases. The photos I added on the end of this post are from the baby shower. She did such a great job putting it all together, it looked amazing!
My girlfriend contacted me about making invitations for her co-workers destination wedding in Hawaii. The bride-to-be wanted the invitations to look like boarding passes in fuchsia and silver. To give the boarding passes an authentic look, I used glossy cardstock and both of the ends are perforated. The back was printed with a pattern of fuchsia hibiscus flowers and the boarding pass sleeve was made with silver metallic cardstock. The couple was very pleased with them and I hope their destination wedding is amazing!
So it has been a while since my last post, i’ve been super busy with the web & graphic design aspect of my business but now I have a little time to catch up and blog some decorations I have made over the past few months!
One of my favourite customers, Kat contacted me for her youngest daughters first birthday party. She decided to go with a bumble bee theme with favour labels, cupcake toppers, a banner and tissue paper flowers. The venue she had booked didn’t allow any thing taped on the walls etc. so we decided to go for tissue paper flowers on each table in a mix of milk glass and clear vintage vases. I made two large paper flower arrangements for the dessert and gift table.
I had so much fun making this party package, I think it all turned out so great and looked fantastic! She really is one of the best customers a gal can have, she is so supportive and I am always so thankful that she gives me her trust for such momentous occasions in her children’s lives!
It was my sister’s birthday a couple of weeks ago and we had a small family BBQ to celebrate. I was only going to make a couple of pom poms and a cake banner for her but I changed my mind of course two days before to make it a tad more elaborate! It was a lot of work to pull off in a day but she is worth it 😉
My sister loves bold bright colors, so I decided to go with a Moroccan theme with a lot of fuschia, orange and some pops of purple and gold. I hung tissue paper pom poms in Cerise, Tangerine and Purple, the tulle pom poms were in Hot Pink and the garlands were made from gold cardstock.
For the centerpiece on the table I made matching tissue paper flowers and cut out a Moroccan pattern with my Silhouette Cameo out of glitter gold cardstock to wrap around the vase. I also made custom cardstock with a metallic gold moroccan pattern for the mason jar lids and name tags for the mason jar cups.
Since we were kids it has been tradition for our birthdays to have ice-cream cake from Dairy Queen. I bought a plain log cake and decorated it with small tissue paper flowers and made the cake pennant banner from the same custom cardstock.
It was such a fun way to end the summer and to celebrate my sister’s birthday, and most importantly the birthday girl was surprised and enjoyed herself!
